I am writing an op-ed research project in my English class. My question is what masks do I live in?. I share a lot of research that I've done and personal stories. This is to show what masks I live in. I am referencing the film The Mask You Live In. The two masks that I most often live in are the masks of positive and confidence. These masks block out my real emotions of nervousness and dreadfulness in my most difficult situations. To begin our research process, we watched the film Miss Representation and wrote a blog post 10 about how the themes affected our being, doing, and knowing. This was to how if the film made us change the way we look at social media and how much it really affects women in society. Then, we watched a film the The Mask You Live In and did a blog post 11 on that. This asked us if it changed our view on men in society to see if the sights we see and words we hear affect us. We had a blog post 12 to do where we had to explain what are project was what we were doing. This was the hardest one. I didn't really know what i was doing yet or my topic. We had a blog post 13 that we did after we knew our thesis statement "My emotional masks of postivity and confidence hide my real emotions of nervousness and dreadfulness". and what are project was. We had one more blog post 14 to do to wrap up the project to explain it one last time. Something that was a big help was our assignment sheet. I have done research projects in the past but, i have never done one like this before. All of my previous research projects were just research nothing personal. This project involves both.
Here I will post drafts of my project:
